UOP LLC, a Honeywell company, announced today it has signed an agreement with Newpoint Gas, LP to exclusively use UOP Separex membrane technology in the design of specific gas treating plants in Canada and the United States.
The agreement gives Newpoint Gas exclusive rights to offer Separex technology as part of its design and fabrication of defined gas processing plants for Canadian and U.S. customers.
UOP’s Separex technology upgrades natural gas streams by removing carbon dioxide and water vapor in order to meet the quality standards specified by pipeline transmission and distribution companies, as well as end users of the natural gas.
“As demand for natural gas grows worldwide, processors increasingly need reliable, compact, efficient and low-cost treating solutions,” said Peter Piotrowski, senior vice president of UOP’s Process Technology and Equipment business. “This agreement brings together proven UOP technology with Newpoint’s outstanding design and fabricating experience to provide North American customers the best option to meet their needs.”
