Honeywell was selected as one of the “2009 World’s Most Ethical Companies” by the Ethisphere Institute, an international think-tank dedicated to advancement of best practices in business ethics, corporate social responsibility, and sustainability.

The list recognizes organizations that promote ethical business standards and practices by going beyond legal minimums and introducing innovative ideas benefiting the public. Of the 10,000 companies reviewed, 99 across 35 industries made the 2009 list.

Researchers and analysts reviewed companies’ codes of ethics, investment in innovation, sustainable business practices, corporate citizenship activities, nominations from senior executives, industry peers, suppliers and customers, and feedback from consumer action groups. Information was provided by the companies through questionnaires and collected during additional independent research.

Honeywell was also ranked as a “2008 World’s Most Ethical Company” and among the “Best Government Contractors for Ethics and Compliance Initiatives” by the Ethisphere Institute in 2008.
