Special Olympics participants and coaches fly on Honeywell’s Cessna Citation Sovereign in route to Special Olympics.
For the sixth time, Honeywell has made one of its aircraft and pilots available to support the Cessna Citation Special Olympics Airlift. The program mobilizes corporate aircraft and pilots to ferry participants to and from the national Special Olympics competition.
Honeywell pilots Sandy Wyatt and Jary Engels flew the eight-passenger Honeywell Citation Sovereign from Deer Valley, Arizona, to Salt Lake City, Utah, on July 17 to pick up coaches and games participants. The flight then continued on to Lincoln, Nebraska for the games. The pilots returned a week later to bring the participants back.
“The airlift is a wonderful way for us to provide a community service, and at the same time show our support for Cessna, one of our most important customers,” said Flight Operations Director Doug Deye. “It’s always an uplifting experience because a lot of the people who compete in the Special Olympics would never be able to make it to the games on their own. Along with Honeywell Hometown Solutions, it’s just one more thing that Honeywell does to better the community.”
