Clinton Global Initiative Recognizes Honeywell for Enhancing Access to Modern Technology

Former U.S. President Bill Clinton and Tom Buckmaster, President, Honeywell Hometown Solutions, at the 2010 CGI Annual Meeting

Former U.S. President Bill Clinton recently welcomed Honeywell to the Clinton Global Initiative’s 2010 Annual Meeting, recognizing the company’s longstanding commitment to improve science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) education around the world.

“Honeywell is committed to helping educate the next generation of pioneers in science and engineering,” said Tom Buckmaster, President, Honeywell Hometown Solutions. “We are proud to work with the Clinton Global Initiative to implement new and meaningful educational programs to complement our existing global portfolio of award-winning STEM initiatives.”

Through this new partnership, Honeywell is launching a program in Mexico to address critical gaps in science and math literacy. Science kits featuring important learning materials and concepts will be distributed to middle schools across the country to help local educators create an environment in which students understand the value and depth of science and explore a wide range of career choices. In addition, local Honeywell employees will mentor teachers to help them leverage the full value of the classroom materials.
