Honeywell’s Enhanced Vision System (EVS) / Synthetic Vision System (SVS) technology was recently featured on CNN. Chad Cundiff, vice president of Crew Interface at Honeywell Aerospace, discussed the new technology that blends synthetic vision and infrared sensors.
By offering pilots enhanced visibility and situational awareness, the technology can “lift the fog” and allow aircraft to land in poor weather, reduce air congestion, and decrease emissions and fuel costs. EVS/SVS adds real-time data to the flight crews’ display, and enhances detection of the runway and approach environment.
