Honeywell named Krishna Mikkilineni (pictured left) and Bask Iyer (pictured right) to its Executive Management Team, reporting to Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Dave Cote, effective on April 12, 2010.  Larry Kittelberger, Senior Vice President, Technology and Operations, will retire from Honeywell after almost 13 years at the company. 

Mikkilineni will become Senior Vice President, Engineering and Operations, and will be responsible for the company’s Engineering and Integrated Supply Chain organizations, including the Honeywell Operations Council and Technology Leadership Council.  Mikkilineni will add these duties to his current role as President of Honeywell Technology Solutions, which has grown to 7,500 engineers.

In addition to his current role as Chief Information Officer, Iyer will assume additional responsibility for Honeywell’s Global Security organization and Functional Transformation efforts.

Kathleen Winters, Honeywell’s Vice President and Corporate Controller, has been named one of the top females in the finance industry by Treasury and Risk magazine.

As the company’s Chief Accounting Officer, Winters oversees Honeywell’s SEC and statutory reporting, accounting policies, internal controls and finance transformation for general accounting.  She is also responsible for government accounting and compliance and serves as a member of the Integrity and Compliance Council.

Prior to this role, Winters was Vice President of Business Analysis and Planning at Honeywell, where she was responsible for strategic and annual financial planning, short range forecasting, and internal financial reporting.

Honeywell Automation and Control Solutions President and CEO Roger Fradin was featured in a recent Forbes magazine article, discussing Honeywell’s expansive energy-efficient technology portfolio.

The article titled “Green and Clean” cites Honeywell as being part of the “green gold rush in Europe” and in a leading market position in the U.S. which has “130 million buildings and 6 billion energy-hungry devices.”

“With energy controls in 150 million homes, 10 million businesses and the bulk of the world’s largest oil refineries, Honeywell is cashing in on worries over power costs and greenhouse gases. All told, 60% of sales at [Honeywell Automation and Control Solutions] come from products and services that relate to energy efficiency,” according to the article.

Tim Mahoney has been named President and CEO of Honeywell’s $11 billion Aerospace business, effective immediately.  Mahoney will report to Honeywell’s Chairman and CEO Dave Cote.

“Tim has more than 30 years of experience in the aerospace industry and is uniquely qualified to make a seamless transition to President and CEO of Honeywell Aerospace,” said Cote.  “He has held leadership roles in sales, operations, information systems and engineering during his time at the company.  As Chief Technology Officer, he helped to build Honeywell Aerospace’s global presence and leadership positions in mechanical and electronic products and services across commercial, defense and space applications.   His extensive industry knowledge and operational experience will be critical to the continued growth of our Aerospace business.” 

Mahoney was most recently Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at Honeywell Aerospace with a $2 billion research and development budget and leading more than 10,000 engineers.

Honeywell announced that Murray Grainger has been named Chief Financial Officer, Specialty Products, a business unit of Honeywell Specialty Materials, and Elena Doom has been appointed Vice President, Investor Relations.  Grainger and Doom will assume their new roles immediately. 

“Murray has created a solid foundation for Honeywell’s relationship with Wall Street,” said David J. Anderson, Honeywell Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer.  “His strong financial acumen and background in business analysis makes him a great fit for our Specialty Products business.”

“Elena has been with Honeywell for several years, where she has gained increasing roles of responsibility,” continued Anderson.  “In addition, her background in accounting and business analysis provides her with the necessary tools to effectively communicate Honeywell’s story to the investment community. We are pleased to have her in this role.” 

Grainger has been with Honeywell since 2004, with an extensive background in mergers and acquisitions, strategic planning and investor relations. Previously, Grainger worked at ITT Corporation in Sweden, Australia, and the United States and holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Sydney and an MBA from Columbia University.

Doom joined Honeywell in 2002 and has held various business and corporate financial roles, including Treasury, Investor Relations and M&A. She previously served as the Manager for Investor Relations and most recently, Doom was Director, Corporate Development helping the company’s global M&A activities. Before coming to Honeywell, she worked as an Associate at Arthur Andersen.  Doom holds a bachelor’s degree in international business from Loyola Marymount University and an MBA from the University of Notre Dame.

Calvin M. Dooley, President and CEO of the American Chemistry Council, presents Andreas Kramvis, Honeywell Specialty Materials President and CEO, with the Responsible Care® Leadership Award.

Honeywell Specialty Materials has won the Responsible Care® Leadership Award for a medium-sized company from the American Chemistry Council (ACC).  The award, which recognizes Specialty Materials’ outstanding leadership under the chemistry industry’s environmental, health, safety and security performance initiative, was presented to Honeywell at the ACC Annual Meeting in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

According to the ACC, “companies must meet defined safety performance requirements, demonstrate a positive trend in performance metrics, and complete security requirements on time” to be considered for the recognition.

“Winning this award recognizes the achievements and efforts of our entire organization, from our headquarters to the plant level,” said Andreas Kramvis, President and CEO of Honeywell Specialty Materials.  “Responsible Care is, and will continue to be, a primary base that drives performance and behaviors in our company.  We consider it nothing less than our license to operate.”

Honeywell opened the first school in Sichuan Province, China, following the earthquake that devastated the region nearly a year ago on May 12, 2008.  Honeywell, company employees and the non-profit humanitarian organization Operation USA rebuilt and designed the school to provide up to 350 schoolchildren from seven neighboring villages with a safe, secure, energy efficient and environmentally-friendly facility.

The new Honeywell United Primary School is installed with a Honeywell closed circuit TV system, alarm systems, access control systems and smoke detectors. Roofing materials that provide better insulation to keep the school cool during summers and warm during winters were also used, as well as energy-saving lighting, switches and solar water heaters. In addition, a Honeywell whole-house water pre-filtration system was installed to provide clean, clear water to the school.  Honeywell is also partnering with Safe Kids China to provide lessons to develop a culture of safety in the school.  

“Honeywell’s post-quake efforts do not end with just the opening of one school.  There is still plenty to do for the Sichuan people to help them on their journey to recovery,” said Shane Tedjarati, president and CEO of Honeywell China and India.  “I am delighted that we have built the Honeywell United Primary School to be equipped with modern equipment such as personal computers and with a safer, more secure and more energy efficient infrastructure.”

Honeywell announced that Alexandre Ismail has been named President and CEO of its $4.6 billion Transportation Systems (TS) business, effective immediately. 

Ismail, 44, succeeds Adriane Brown who will move into a newly created role as Senior Vice President Energy Strategy.  She will be responsible for developing and coordinating energy policy and marketplace strategies across all Honeywell’s businesses and functions.   Both Ismail and Brown will report to Honeywell’s Chairman and CEO Dave Cote.

“We continue to build depth and strengthen our management team with leaders that have industry, technical, and business expertise,” said Cote. “We’re counting on both Adriane and Alex to continue to make significant contributions to the long-term success of the company.”

Katherine L. Adams has been appointed Honeywell’s Senior Vice President and General Counsel, effective immediately. She will report to Honeywell Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Dave Cote.

“Kate is a terrific selection for General Counsel,” said Cote. “Her outstanding work since joining Honeywell has added rigor and focus to Honeywell’s core legal processes, especially in protecting the business’ intellectual property, supporting successful mergers and acquisitions, managing human resources and labor issues, as well as resolving the company’s legacy environmental and remediation matters. These experiences, on top of her background in private practice and public service, position her well to take our legal department to the next level.”

Adriane Brown, president and CEO of Honeywell Transportation Systems, was named “One of the 100 Most Powerful Executives in Corporate America” by Black Enterprise magazine, a monthly publication that provides 4.3. million readers with information on entrepreneurship, careers and financial management.

Brown, who is featured on the February 2009 cover, said, “Delivering in good times is critical, but the true test is how you lead when market conditions are changing rapidly.”

Each candidate was selected from among the highest ranking executives with his or her corporation, managing national and global business. Each executive selected holds a senior management position with one of the top 1,000 publicly traded companies or an international corporation with gross revenues of at least $1 billion.
